Study
Soprano
Jeon, Ji-Young received her education at the Yonsei University
of Music, the Hochschule fuer Musik in Munich, Germany,
and the Mozarteum International Summer Academy in Salzburg.
She studied with Daphne Evangelatos, Helena Lazarska,
Adalbert Kraus, and Helmut Deutsch.
Opera
and Concert
Since
her debut as Queen of the Night in Mozart's opera "The
Magic Flute" in 1999, sorpano Ji Young Jeon has performed
the role over 100 times.
Miss Jeon has sung with several
major opera companies in Germany, Switzerland, and her
native South Korea, including the Hannover State Opera,
Berlin Deutsche Oper and State Opera, Deutsche Oper am
Rhein in Duisburg, Dresden Semperoper, and the Sejong
Center in Seoul.
She has sung a diverse rpertoire
from Baroque and Classical roles to the 20th century.
Upcoming engagements include Bellini's "I Puritani"
in Karlsruhe, and her debut as Zerbinetta in Brandenburg.
In addition to the lyric and coloratura
roles in opera, Miss Jeon's repertoire also includes lied,
oratorio, and symphonic works. Concert engagements have
included performances in Munich's Philharmonic Hall, as
well as recitals in Germany, France, Spain, Japan and
Korea.
